Connect Google Search Console
Connect Google Search Console
Connect your Google Search Console account to see your search performance data in Koala SEO.
How It Works
Koala SEO uses Google's OAuth 2.0 flow to connect to your Search Console account. This means:
- No passwords stored — Koala never sees your Google password
- Read-only access — Koala can only read your data, never modify it
- Revocable — You can disconnect at any time from your Google account settings
Connecting
- Go to Settings → Connected Accounts in your Koala dashboard
- Click Connect Google
- Sign in with your Google account
- Grant read-only permissions to your Search Console data
- Select which properties you want to sync
Selecting Properties
After connecting, you'll see a list of all verified properties in your Search Console. You can:
- Select all — Sync all properties
- Select individual properties — Only sync specific sites
Each property will be added as a separate site in Koala SEO.
Data Refresh
Koala syncs your Search Console data:
- On demand — Click "Refresh" on any site to pull fresh data
- Automatic — Data refreshes periodically in the background
Manual refresh is available if you've made changes in Search Console and want to see them immediately.
Troubleshooting
"No properties found"
This means your Google account doesn't have any verified Search Console properties. You'll need to verify a site in Google Search Console first.
Connection error
If the Google connection fails:
- Check that you're still signed into the correct Google account
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Make sure your browser allows popups (the OAuth flow opens a new window)
Disconnecting
To remove the Google connection:
- Go to Settings → Connected Accounts
- Click Disconnect next to Google
- Confirm the disconnection
This removes the OAuth connection but does not delete any data already synced to Koala. To clear synced data, go to individual sites and use the "Clear data" option.
