Keyword Tracking

Keyword Tracking

Every query your site appears for in Google Search is tracked in Koala SEO.

Viewing Keywords

Go to any site and click the Keywords tab to see all queries your pages rank for. You'll see:

  • Keyword — The search query
  • Clicks — How many people clicked through to your site
  • Impressions — How many times your page appeared
  • CTR — Click-through rate
  • Position — Average ranking position

Sorting and Filtering

Use the controls above the keyword table to:

  • Search — Find specific keywords
  • Sort — Click any column header to sort by that metric
  • Filter — Filter by position range, CTR, or minimum impressions

Keyword Details

Click any keyword to see its detailed performance:

  • Position history — How the ranking has changed over time
  • Pages — Which pages appear for this keyword
  • Devices — Performance split by desktop vs mobile
  • Countries — Which countries generate the most clicks for this keyword

Adding Notes

You can add notes to any keyword to track your optimization efforts:

  1. Click the note icon next to a keyword
  2. Write your note (e.g., "Optimized title tag for this query")
  3. Notes appear in the keyword list for easy reference

Favorite Keywords

Star keywords to add them to your favorites list. Favorited keywords appear in a dedicated section on the main dashboard for quick monitoring.

Search Appearance

For each keyword, you can see how your result appears in Google:

  • Query — What the user typed
  • Page — Which URL is ranking
  • Improvements needed — Google may show a note if there are issues with your result (e.g., structured data opportunities)
